Chloe Lamford Print

In 2018, Stage designer and Somerset House Studios artist Chloe Lamford spectacularly transformed the Great Arch Hall in the first of a new series of artist commissions for this main entrance by the Embankment. This print of Somerset House was created by Lamford in reference to her installation. 

Lamford’s installation summoned a theatrical back-stage to Somerset House itself, with abandoned architectural features, imagined vistas, theatrical props, shimmering curtains and transformative stages that provides visitors the opportunity to be a player in an as-yet-unscripted play.

About

Chloe Lamford is a stage designer, her work spanning theatre, installation, music and opera. She is also developing various collaborations across art forms. She works all over Europe, with companies such as Toneelgroep Amsterdam and the Schaubühne Theatre in Berlin, as well as regularly in Belgium and France. She is associate designer at the Royal Court Theatre, and regularly designs for the National Theatre and the Young Vic, amongst others. She won the Arts Foundation Fellowship for Design for Performance in 2013. She trained at Wimbledon School of Art.
